A medical practitioner / manager with over 40 years experience, Lekan has an MBA with specialty in Health Care Management and a Certificate in Basic Trauma Life Support. He is an NCAA Authorised Aviation Medical Examiner and NIMASA Authorized Seafarer Medical Examiner. He holds the Basic & Advanced Certificates in Aviation Medicine from Kings College, University of London, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Oklahoma,USA and Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA) and Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership and Management in Health of the University of Washington. He has certificates of Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) and DOT collector and Trainer for DOT Specimen Collectors from Intoximeters Inc., St Louis, USA.

A graduate of Biochemistry of the University of Ife, Yemisi also has Post Graduate Diplomas in Technology Management, and in Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Management. She holds the International General Certificate (IGC) of the National Examinations Board on Occupational Health & Safety (NEBOSH). ‘Yemisi is a Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) and the International Institute of Risk and Safety Managers (MIIRSM, Membership No. 302510) and she has a Lead Auditor Certification (OHSAS 18001) of the International Register of Certified Auditors (IRCA). She has a Certificate in Integrated Safety Management Systems from the Singapore Aviation Academy and she is also an accredited trainer, having attended the ICAO certified Training Instructors' Course by Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in conjunction with Trainair Plus in addition to various other Trainer Development Courses. Yemisi has varied work experience – from manufacturing, in the drug and cosmetic industry, to management consulting and administration in various capacities.
